The Heritage Discovery Centre is a special attraction here in Grande Prairie. The museum takes you through the Mesozoic Era of the Ice Age teaching you about life and survival of that time.
Don’t let the name ‘museum’ fool you; the Heritage Discovery Centre is sure you blow your mind! This museum seeks to keep your attention with hands-on exhibits, video documentaries, and various displays. You'll feel engaged by participating in exhibits, asking questions to the museum staff, and seeing artifacts up close that date back millions of years. Along with the museum, you'll also have access to the Kin Gallery which includes exhibits such as “Don Everton Radio Collection”; “Horses, Wagons, and Cowboys: The Chuckwagon Story”; and “In the Shadow of the Rockies: Alberta Sasquatch Stories”.
The Heritage Discovery Centre is open to the public and all ages to enjoy. The museum was created with the purpose of education, so there is no entrance fee. That's right, it's free! The museum is open year-round, 7 days a week located on the lower level of Centre 2000. For exact hours please visit the City of Grande Prairie website for more info.
